Maintain and Improve the Effectiveness of Quality & Environmental Management Systems-Internal Auditing

As concern grows for continually improving the quality of the environment, organizations of all types and sizes are increasingly turning their attention to the environmental impacts of their activities, products and services. The environmental performance of an organization is of importance to internal and external interested parties. Achieving sound environmental performance requires organizational commitment to a systematic approach and, to continual improvement of their environmental performance.

The purpose of this course is to provide delegates with the opportunity of gaining the skills and knowledge to learn how to conduct an Environmental and Quality audits in order to improve organization’s overall environmental performance.

The course also improves the participants’ capabilities to support the implementation and maintenance of an environmental management system through the provision of internal auditing to provide some means of measuring performance and to provide feedback for management review.

The course also improves the participants’ capabilities and skills in carrying out physical site inspections

By completion of the course the attendees will be able to:

· Understand the requirements of an (EMS) Environmental management system based upon ISO 14001:2004

· Implementing in their own organizations an EMS that is as simple as possible and appropriate to the existing organizational culture

· Defining measurable EMS objectives and targets for key performance improvement

· Understand Auditor competence, knowledge and skills

· Identify areas which require further improvement and help to reduce risks and recurrence of problems

· Carry out EMS audits, including writing and presentation of audit reports

· Understand the importance of audit follow up, corrective and preventive action and CAR Close out

· Effective Evaluations for KPI's ( Key Performance Indicators) to maintain Continual Improving Process
